The Channel Monitoring project was established in response to the increasing militarisation and securitisation of borders, in order to advance safe and legal migration routes.
We observe the safety and legal rights of people crossing the English Channel by irregular means.
We act to provide life saving equipment and conduct research to mitigate against harm caused on crossings.
We monitor to ensure that standards of fair process and legal rights are observed by authorities.
We document journeys and incidents on the channel using a variety of tech tools and conduct interviews with migrants to document their experiences.
